How does underfloor heating work in my home?

Warm water underfloor heating consists of a network of pipes laid under your floors, which heat the surface of your floors. The heat naturally radiates upwards, so your entire room is heated evenly and consistently.

Also known as ‘wet’ underfloor heating, the system runs warm water through the network of underfloor pipes, usually placed on or embedded in a screed floor or other flat surface. Your choice of flooring is then laid over the top.

Water underfloor heating is compatible with both conventional gas boiler systems and sustainable energy-efficient systems including heat pumps and solar panels. More efficient than electric underfloor heating, this type is best for new build homes, extensions, renovations, and whole house-systems where new floors will be laid anyway.
